    Google Docs

    Google Docs is a free online office service from Google that incorporates Google Docs (word processor), Google Sheets (spreadsheet), and Google Slides (presentation program). The service was first introduced in March of 2006 after its purchase of Writely. Below is an overview of each of the programs.

    Google Docs is an online word processor program capable of almost everything a typical word processor like Microsoft Word is capable of doing without having to download any software.
    Features include text formatting, ability to insert images, select from dozens of templates, and other media, and collaborative editing for sharing between computers, devices, and other users.

    Google SheetsGoogle Sheets

    Google Sheets is an online spreadsheet program capable of doing almost everything a typical spreadsheet program like Microsoft Excel is capable of doing without having to download any software.
    Features include text formatting, formulas, charts, scripting, and collaborative editing for sharing between computers, devices, and other users.
    Supported file types: .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, .xlt, .xltx, .xltm .ods, .csv, .tsv, .txt, .tab

    Google SlidesGoogle Slides

    Google Slides is an online presentation program capable of doing almost everything a typical presentation program like Microsoft PowerPoint is capable of doing without having to download any software.
    Features include adding multimedia like pictures and formatted text into slides, animation and transitions, and collaborative editing for sharing between computers, devices, and other users.
    Supported file types: .ppt, .pptx, .pptm, .pps, .ppsx, .ppsm, .pot, .potx, .potm
